21st Century Learning & Montessori Environment
The nation needs an education system that excites and stimulates children, providing them with the learning they need and deserve to fulfill their potential.
Maria Montessori’s approach was characterized by an emphasis on independence, freedom within limits, and respect for a child's natural psychological, physical, and social development. After almost a century later, her philosophy still proves to be true in many areas while other aspects need to be updated for a child to be successful in the 21 st century.
In this day and age, the education system needs to enable all children to thrive in their own way. We must recognize that young people are individuals with different talents and dreams. As such, not all children learn in the same way nor can follow a single educational approach to education. We need to move towards a system where we customize education, based on a strong core of essential skills and knowledge, which allows young people to develop their own talents and aspirations.
This is an exciting time to be an AmeriMont Elementary student! We are transforming how students learn and can excel during college and career, ensuring that critical 21st century skills are a staple in the classroom. As a 21st Century Learning School, we recognize that all learners need educational experiences in school and beyond to build knowledge and skills for success in a globally and digitally interconnected world. Our students are moving beyond the basics and embracing the 4C’s (Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, & Creativity) to prepare for the 21 st century. AmeriMont builds on this foundation, combining knowledge and skills for students who are more engaged in the learning process and graduate better prepared to thrive.
All learners need and deserve 21st century learning opportunities to thrive as tomorrow's leaders, workers, and citizens. At AmeriMont Elementary, each child is gaining these dynamic skills for lifelong success.
